True Masculinity is a Blessing to the Family & a Gift to the Nation
On Mother’s Day I wrote a post to remind women of all ages how incredibly sacred they are and to pose the question: Is Motherhood the Next Endangered Species?
Today I write to acknowledge and encourage all Fathers and Men. The same concern could be raised about Fatherhood: is it becoming an endangered species?
Men, you too are part of the righteous seed of the woman represented in Genesis 3 and Revelations 12 that Satan is waging war against. Men, you too are part of this sacred equation!
Your individual life and your ability to co-create life are also gifts from God! You have the profound ability to treasure and protect your sacred life-giving capacity in the way you treat the women in your life, by how you steward your relationships, and ultimately, by creating and raising godly offspring with your wife through marriage. What a critical role you play and what an awesome gift to steward!
Malachi 2:15 shows us that one of God’s purposes for sex in marriage is godly offspring: “Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth.”
Manhood Under Assault
In recent decades, waves of evolving ideological narratives about masculinity & femininity, sexuality & gender have waged war against men, perpetually telling them that to be male is to inherently be the oppressor, especially if you are heterosexual, white and/or Christian.
Men have been continually given the message that they need to back down on the assertion of their manhood in order to level the playing field for women. Thus, true manhood and masculinity have become objects of scorn and an endangered species in our society.
Godly Men are a Blessing to their Households & to the Nation
However, the Bible explains that when men embrace the full masculinity that is built into their DNA, both physically and spiritually, they are a strength and a blessing — to their families, to their children, and to our nation.
Psalms 128 says that men who fear the Lord and who walk in obedience to God are blessed! Their wife and children will be fruitful; they will be prosperous; they will enjoy the fruit of their labor; their households and their cities will have peace.
Healthy Families are the foundation of a Healthy Nation!
Statistics also prove the Blessing of having a Father in the Home.
An organization called Take Charge, led by Kendall Qualls, presents proof of the critical impact of the presence of a Father in the home has on the welfare of children.
On their Fatherhood Impact page, Take Charge explains fatherlessness is a growing problem in all ethnic groups in America. According to the Pew Research Center, 23% of children in the U.S.A. live in father-less homes. This is three times the worldwide average and the “highest percentage of children that live without a father in the world.”
In the graph below, you can see the impact that having a two-parent household has on reducing poverty.
Furthermore, the graph below demonstrates that as the percentage of unwed mothers decreases, household income rises across all ethnicities. Fathers, this shows the strong impact you have by being present and engaging with your children in your home.
Men, Fathers, hopefully you can see from these graphs the profound impact the presence and involvement of a Father in the home makes! While these graphs highlight the economic impact of having a father in the home, there is no way to quantify the emotional impact, the educational impact, the mental health impact, and the spiritual impact of having an engaged Father in the home.
Today, Fathers, we are grateful for you! We are grateful for every Father who is committed to his family and engaged with his children in the home!

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!” Psalms 127:3-4
Fathers, today we are grateful for you! Your presence matters, in our homes and in our nation!
Men, if you need some hope today, know that there is NOTHING that can separate you from the love and salvation of Jesus Christ! (Romans 8:31-39).
Turn to him today! “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves” (Colossians 1:13).
Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ today. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:9-10
